About the Role
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school's facilities and grounds to ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. You will report directly to the Principal, Business Manager or a nominated delegate, working both independently and collaboratively to support the school's operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day‑to‑day tasks such as delivering and collecting mail, setting up classrooms or halls for events, and managing school supplies and equipment.
- Maintain the school grounds, including mowing, gardening and general upkeep of outdoor areas and sporting facilities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment maintenance.
- Attend to or arrange repairs and maintenance of school facilities, furniture and equipment, including basic maintenance tasks.
- Support school events by assisting with setup and clean‑up, ensuring the environment is well‑maintained and secure.
About You
- Experience in grounds and facilities maintenance or a similar role.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills to handle a variety of tasks efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, students and external contractors.
- A proactive and self‑motivated approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
