* Part Time - 3 hours a week, 40 weekly sessions a year commencing January 2026. Additional hours will be negotiated for creating musical tracks, and for show rehearsals and performances.

The Program
VoiceworksPLUS is a professionally directed performing arts program for people with intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to nurture participants' musical talents, performance skills and social confidence while promoting greater community integration. Our participants respond well to high energy people who lead with passion, empathy and a sense of fun.
We rehearse during school terms on Wednesdays from 4:30 – 6:30pm at the Shenton Park Community Centre, Onslow Rd, Shenton Park.
Key responsibilities
The Accompanist/ Musical Director (MD) will play a central role in the program, working closely with the Artistic Director and creative team.
Key Responsibilities include;
* Accompanying participants on keyboard during rehearsal and performances
* Supporting the Artistic Director in delivering workshops and rehearsals
* Leading musical rehearsals, teaching participants songs and conducting the group as required
* Overseeing musical arrangements and assisting with repertoire selection
* Collaborating with the artistic team to support the staging of programmed public performances
What we're looking for
1. Keyboard accompanist with experience conducting theatrical/musical productions.
2. Strong planning, organisational and communication skills
3. Flexibility and a sense of humour, with ability to build rapport with participants and guide behaviour
4. Good communication skills, and the ability to adjust to the varying needs and abilities of individuals.
5. Experience working in the disability sector is desirable.
6. A current NDIS Check will be required before appointment is made.

VoiceworksPLUS is our performing arts program which fosters the talents of people with intellectual disabilities. This unique program teaches acting, singing and movement techniques, helping participants build self-confidence and to develop communication and social skills.
