Specialist – Mental Health Liaison. In this pivotal role, you will
provide emergency psychiatric nursing assessment, care planning,
and management services for patients experiencing acute mental
health issues. You will work closely with patients and their
families, ensuring a safe and supportive discharge process, while
contributing to the overall mental health care
landscape.
This is a Recruitment Pool for suitably
qualifiedClinical Nurse Specialist covering :
Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time,
Fixed Term - Full Time, Fixed Term - Part Time and casual
appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and / or
permanency.
The following should be
noted :
* The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
* Interviews may not be conducted as part of the process however applicants may be contacted to provide additional information.
* Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
Ideal Candidate
* Registered Nurse with eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Extensive experience in acute Mental Health nursing, with demonstrated skills in risk assessment and crisis management.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively support clients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
* Proven ability to lead and promote teamwork within multidisciplinary environments.
* Knowledgeable in quality improvement practices and their application to Mental Health services.
* Proficient in using clinical applications and information systems to support quality care.
* Valid C or C-A Class driver's licence.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments and crisis intervention plans for individuals across the lifespan.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care, facilitating a patient's journey closer to home.
* Liaise with community services, including Emergency Telehealth and Rural Link, to support safe clinical care and discharge plans.
* Act as a resource for mental health nursing issues within the health service, providing expert clinical advice and guidance.
* Develop and maintain clinical pathways, policies, and guidelines in partnership with mental health clinicians and managers.
* Contribute to the education and development of nursing staff in mental health practices, enhancing overall service delivery.
