The Medical Oncology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for two suitable Advanced Trainees for 2026, including one accredited position and one non-accredited position.
The positions would also suit trainees in palliative medicine and general medicine, potentially meeting accredited core training in Medical Oncology.
Salary
$134,930 - $189,005 per annum
Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.

Period of Employment
Fixed term, full-time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro-rata), from 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2027. Part-time work may be considered.

Duties
The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of inpatients and outpatients at the Royal Hobart Hospital and provides first on-call cover for the Medical Oncology unit. Infrequent shifts covering emergency met calls at the hospital may be required.
Essential Requirements
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
The Head of the State Service requires that the nominated person satisfy pre-employment checks, including:
* Conviction checks in areas such as violence, sex offences, serious drug offences, and dishonesty.
* Identification check.
* Disciplinary action in previous employment.
