High Voltage Technician – Darwin
We're currently looking for a High Voltage Technician to join our Darwin team on a permanent basis.
Don't have HV experience yet? That's okay. If you're a qualified electrician with the right attitude and willingness to learn, we will provide structured training and hands‐on experience in HV testing and commissioning.
About the Role
This is a dynamic role combining office, site, and field‐based work, with opportunities for travel across Australia on a project basis.
You'll be supported by experienced engineers and technicians while developing skills in:
* HV protection testing and commissioning
* Substation primary and secondary system testing
* Power system and generation commissioning
* Protection relay testing
* Transformer testing
* Preparing test reports and commissioning documentation
* Working safely in high-voltage environments
What we're looking for
We're more interested in attitude and foundation than ticking every HV box.
Essential Qualifications
* Electrical Fitter & Mechanic Licence (NT or transferable)
* Minimum 2-4 years' electrical experience
* Current driver's licence
* Strong commitment to safety
* Willingness to travel and work on projects
Highly regarded (but not required)
* HV switching or testing experience
* Exposure to substations or industrial environments
* Knowledge of Australian Standards
