Head Teacher – Technological & Applied Studies
Position Summary
The Head Teacher TAS at Northern Beaches Secondary College Cromer Campus leads the Technology and Applied Studies curriculum programme, fostering a collaborative learning environment that supports our diverse student community.
Location
Sydney Region – Cromer Campus (Northern Beaches Secondary College)
Compensation
Base salary $149,059 plus leave loading and superannuation; total remuneration package valued at $168,946.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the TAS curriculum team, ensuring high quality teaching and inclusive learning programmes.
* Collaborate with the school executive to implement systems that address whole‑school strategic priorities.
* Develop vocational pathways alongside traditional HSC courses and support teacher professional practice.
* Plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
Qualifications
* Unconditional full approval to teach in NSW; e.g., NSW Department of Education.
* Comprehensive knowledge of TAS syllabus areas, including Stage 6 Industrial Technology.
* Experience with curriculum design, assessment and student welfare, and leading quality inclusive teaching.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with students, staff and parents.
* Leadership skills to manage performance of individuals and teams, and to build capacity for continuous improvement.
* Commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is required. Applicants without this approval must commence the application process concurrently with this opportunity.
