Proserpine Hospital is a busy level 3 facility with approximately 20,000 emergency department presentations per year and 270 births. Rural generalists working in the Whitsunday Health Service develop a broad scope of practice in a collaborative environment and have the opportunity to utilize their skills extensively. The Community Health Campus offers a range of community health services provided by a multidisciplinary team.
The Whitsunday Health Service covers the Whitsunday Regional Council area, Midge Point, and Bloomsbury.
The Whitsunday Health Service comprises two facilities: The Community Health Campus in Cannonvale and the Hospital Campus in Proserpine. The Proserpine Hospital is a 35-bed acute hospital offering specialty inpatient and outpatient services, including obstetrics, endoscopy, visiting specialist clinics, and theatre lists.
About This Opportunity
This role provides the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic and collaborative team, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of the Proserpine Hospital. As a rural general practitioner or senior medical officer, you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of patients and delivering care in a variety of settings.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders. You will also have strong clinical skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

* Salary levels ranging from L13 to L27, with total remuneration up to $498,784 (L27)
