Your Role

Qualifications
* Applicants for the position are expected to have one of the following qualifications:
* A tertiary education in a relevant field.
* OR
* Several years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Prior experience in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment is required.
* Candidates must have valid Australian work rights to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Efficiency and Productivity: Ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production processes.
* Resource Management: Optimise production output while controlling costs by managing labour, materials, and equipment.
* Quality Control: Maintain product and service quality to meet established specifications.
* Health and Safety: Create a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Team Management: Lead and oversee the production team, including hiring, training, and evaluations.
* Scheduling and Planning: Develop production schedules, workflows, and plans to meet demand and deadlines.
* Inventory Management: Oversee inventory to maintain adequate raw materials and finished goods.
* Problem Solving: Identify and address production issues, bottlenecks, and delays.
* Continuous Improvement: Implement strategies for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
* Budgeting: Manage the production department\'s budget, including the wage budget, control costs, and optimise resource allocation.
* Communication: Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments and stakeholders.
* Innovation: Encourage innovation in production processes, technology, and product development.
* Food Safety: Monitor and control processing, including Critical Control Points, ensuring compliance with regulations. Ensure production follows Good Hygiene Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Management System. Produce safe, suitable, and fit-for-purpose products. Collaborate with external auditors and report quality issues promptly. Participate in corrective actions (CARs) and support audits conducted by the HACCP team.
* Environmental Sustainability: Minimise waste and enhance energy efficiency within the production area.
* Project Management: Manage projects aimed at improving production, expansion, and new product launches.
