Simon Says B&C, Morley WA 6062 Position: Chef Full time - Permanent Salary Range: $75,000 – 80,000 per year Simon Says is a buzzing, popular restaurant with a strong trading history and a promising future.
With the capacity to accommodate around 40 diners per sitting, Simon Says offers a unique, flavoursome and extensive menu of rustic style meals in a modern, relaxed setting. We take great pride in preparing everything from first principles in our kitchen—nothing comes pre‑packaged. All our sauces, breads, and even pastries are proudly made in‑house.
We are looking for an experienced Chef to join our team. You will be expected to carry out the following duties.
* Organise the food menus in conjunction with Management, advise on season menu changes.
* Participate
In food preparation, produce food of consistently high quality, taste and presentation and expedite during peak meal periods as needed.
* Oversee apprentices and their training schedule.
* Assist in instruction and training junior kitchen staff on procedures including preparation, cooking, presentation of food and standards and regulations.
* Monitor preparation of dishes and ensure dishes are to a high quality and property presented.
* Advise on cooking procedures with traditional dishes.
* Operate kitchen equipment and cook various speciality dishes.
* Monitor and maintain stock levels to reduce wastage.
* Ensure correct storage and preservation of food where required.
* Check the quantity and quality of received supplies to ensure goods are as ordered and quality standard met.
* Estimate cost involved with preparation of meals.
* Order food and other supplies as required according to budget.
* Liaise with Restaurant manager and Directors regarding menu items, order requirements, status of equipment, work areas and general supplies to assist with established health and safety standards.
* Inspect equipment, work areas and general supplies to ensure conformance to established health and safety standards.
* Bring any kitchen issues to the attention of the management as necessary.
* Beware of and enforce hygiene and health and safety requirements.
* Cater for functions as required.
To be eligible for the position the following qualifications are necessary:
* AQF relevant Certificate IV
* At least 3 years work experience in a Chef role
* You must have work rights in Australia
