Legal Counsel
This role presents a unique opportunity to provide expert legal guidance and support across various aspects of employment law, industrial relations, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality legal advice on general employment law, industrial relations, equal employment opportunity, workplace health and safety, compliance, and regulatory issues.
* Provide strategic guidance on the enforceability and interpretation of industrial instruments, bargaining rights, and obligations under industrial laws.
* Manage and undertake litigious work, including pre-litigation commercial disputes, claims, and industry authority interactions.
* Offer expert advice on regulatory matters relevant to our businesses operating within complex frameworks.
* Collaborate with senior legal professionals to ensure comprehensive and reliable legal support for leadership teams and executive members.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years' PQE in employment or workplace law, with specific experience in dispute resolution.
* Prior advocacy experience, particularly in the Fair Work Commission, is desirable.
* A working understanding of privacy law and Australian Consumer Law is highly beneficial.
* Mandatory requirements include a degree in law from a reputable university, current practising certificate in a state Supreme Court, and High Court of Australia.
* Post-graduate qualifications or other specialist legal certifications are advantageous but not necessary.
