Knox Private Hospital is one of the largest private hospitals in Victoria, caring for over 1.2 million people across Melbourne's east and outer east. It has a 24/7 Emergency Department and a wide range of medical and surgical services, supported by modern facilities and a dedicated care team.
Responsibilities
* As a Registered Nurse on the cardiac ward, undertake peri-operative nursing care in accordance with legislation.
* Deliver evidence-based nursing care and liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
* Ensure patient and staff safety; supervise, direct and guide nursing team members (Enrolled Nurses and AINs) to deliver patient care.
* Proactively assess perioperative nursing care to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients.
* Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and national policies.
* Look after a variety of cardiac patients (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias) and pre/post cath lab care (coronary angiograms, PPM).
* Prepare patients for CABGs/Valve surgeries.
Essential Criteria
* Current Registration with AHPRA with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
* Experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in a cardiac ward.
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
* Commitment to quality patient care; works independently and within a team.
* Exceptional time management and organisational skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Salary and Benefits
* $35.33 - $47.25 per hour based on years of experience against the Healthscope Victoria Nurses' and Midwives' Enterprise Agreement .
