The opportunity
The Manager, Research Performance Information, Impact and Systems plays a critical leadership role within the Office of Research, partnering closely with senior leaders and the broader research community to strengthen UniSC's research performance, impact and reputation. Reporting to the Director, Office of Research, this role leads the university's research performance information function, overseeing systems, analytics, rankings and statutory reporting. You will provide trusted advice to senior leaders, drive continuous improvement in how research data is used, and ensure UniSC meets complex internal and external reporting obligations with confidence and credibility. This role is ideal for an internal leader who understands UniSC's research environment and is ready to operate at enterprise level, influencing strategy, systems and outcomes across the university.
You will
* Lead UniSC's research performance reporting, including HERDC, ABS and commercialisation reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness
* Lead the delivery of UniSC's Times Higher Education World University Rankings and support Impact Rankings submissions
* Provide strategic analysis, insights and advice to the Director, Office of Research, the DVC (Research and Innovation) and senior stakeholders
* Oversee research performance systems, data pipelines, dashboards and analytics products, ensuring they are user‐focused, contemporary and reliable
* Drive a coordinated, end‐to‐end approach to research data management, from ingestion through to reporting and presentation
* Lead and develop a high‐performing team, while working laterally with IT, Insights and Analytics, and academic and professional colleagues
* Contribute as a member of the Office of Research Leadership Team, supporting the delivery of the Better Tomorrow Research Strategy

The Office of Research plays a central role in delivering UniSC's Better Tomorrow Research Strategy 2025–2030, supporting research funding, ethics and integrity, commercialisation, industry engagement and research performance information. The team works closely with academic and professional colleagues across UniSC to strengthen research quality, impact and reputation, and to position UniSC as Australia's premier regional university.

You will be a confident, values‐driven leader with deep experience in research performance, systems and reporting within a university environment. You bring a strong understanding of government research reporting, rankings and bibliometrics, and you know how to translate complex data into meaningful insights for decision‐makers.
You are collaborative by nature, comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, and motivated by improving how UniSC uses research information to support performance, planning and impact.
To be successful, you will bring:
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications in a related field, or equivalent experience
* Extensive experience leading research performance systems, reporting and analytics in a higher education context
* Strong knowledge of HERDC, ABS, commercialisation reporting and university rankings
* Demonstrated leadership capability, including team leadership and enterprise‐wide influence
* Highly developed communication skills and the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders
