About the role:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Assistant Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will support the Maintenance & Facilities Officer in the upkeep and presentation of our facilities, helping to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming environments for our participants, team members, visitors, and community members.

Key Responsibilities:
 * Assist in grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and general landscaping duties across CAC facilities
 * Respond to maintenance-related tasks and requests in a timely and professional manner
 * Support routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify issues or required repairs
 * Maintain cleanliness and safety of outdoor areas, including pathways, car parks, and communal spaces
 * Collaborate with the Maintenance & Facilities Officer, management, and other delegates to ensure facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented
 * Operate tools and machinery safely and responsibly
 * Report hazards, damages, or incidents to the Maintenance & Facilities Officer and/or management
Requirements of the role:
 * Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance or groundskeeping role (preferred)
 * Proven experience in grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and general landscaping
 * Ability to identify and report hazards or maintenance needs, particularly in outdoor environments
 * Familiarity with routine maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, servicing, and safety checks
 * Competence in the safe and effective use of power tools and equipment
 * Experience operating and maintaining mowing equipment safely and efficiently
 * Understanding of workplace health and safety practices relevant to maintenance work
 * Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
 * Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
 * Experience working with people with disability in residential or community settings (preferred)
