The Cruising Yacht Club of WA (TCYC) currently has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join us in delivering an exceptional standard of hospitality in a stunning, high-capacity location. As one of the largest and most vibrant clubs in the region, we are a fully licensed venue with multiple food and beverage outlets.
The venue comprises a premium Members' Lounge and Restaurant, a casual bar, and expansive function facilities. We pride ourselves on serving the highest quality cuisine and beverages at competitive prices, all while showcasing live entertainment. Our members and guests enjoy the Club frequently throughout the week and weekends, taking in the spectacular, panoramic views of Mangles Bay.
In addition to running both casual dining and an a-la-carte restaurant, the Club hosts a dynamic social calendar and a high-volume function business, including large-scale corporate conferences, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings.
The Role
TCYC is looking for a professional Food and Beverage Manager to oversee our extensive operations and deliver a high standard of service to our diverse membership base.
This role requires a blend of strategic management and administrative duties, alongside hands-on operational leadership. Given the nature of our busy social and sailing calendar, flexibility is essential, including the ability to work regular weekends and late nights.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
* Quality Assurance: Ensuring the consistent provision of a high-quality food and beverage offering.
* Leadership: Managing and leading a large hospitality team (Front of House and Kitchen), including effective rostering, training, and human resource management.
* Collaboration: Working closely with the Head Chef to deliver outstanding dining experiences.
* Financial Oversight: Full management of the F&B operation, including annual budgets, event financial reporting, menu/beverage costings, daily takings, and reconciliations.
* Inventory: Managing stock control, including monthly stocktakes and purchasing.
* Supplier Relations: Managing menu and beverage lists and negotiating related supplier contracts.
* Systems: Management of Point of Sale and hospitality software. Previous experience using Northstar/Nexus is highly preferable.
* Events: Overseeing and driving the social calendar and busy function business, from initial booking through to delivery.
* Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to Liquor Licensing, WHS requirements, and internal hospitality policies.
* Stakeholder Management: Maintaining strong relationships with Members, guests, committees, staff, and external contractors.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Food & Beverage Manager in a fast-paced, high-volume role.
* Previous experience working in a Club hospitality environment will be viewed very favourably.
* Barista, RSA, and Approved Manager qualifications are essential.
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build genuine rapport with a large Membership base.
* Advanced POS and Function software knowledge.
* An energetic personality with excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven track record in managing, training, and developing a diverse team.
* Full accountability for stock control and financial reporting.
* A Working with Children Check and National Police Check will be required.
* Must have full Australian working rights.
