Are you ready to make a difference while doing what you love? We’re searching for a Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team in delivering quality meals and smiles to residents in our Clive Burdeu aged care facility.
About the Role

* Prepare and serve nutritious, delicious meals that bring comfort and joy to our residents.
* Be part of a close-knit team and professional care team that is passionate about delivering high-quality care.
* Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized kitchen by thoroughly cleaning and maintaining all areas, equipment, appliances, utensils, and fixtures in compliance with strict food safety and infection control standards.
* Handle basic record-keeping tasks, including tracking meals served, missed meals, and fridge/freezer temperatures.
* Work collaboratively with a supportive team, creating a smooth and positive mealtime experience for all.
What You’ll Do
We’re seeking individuals with the passion and commitment to excel in this role. You’ll need:
* Reliable person to assist with catering services to our elderly.
* The ability to handle food preparation, cooking duties, and meal service with care and precision.
* Have a basic understanding of food handling and hygiene (or are eager to learn).
* A commit to cleanliness and safety, maintaining high standards in kitchen hygiene for our residents and staff.
* Available to work at least 5 days per week, including weekends, across a range of shifts between 9am and 7pm.
What Makes You Stand Out
* Previous experience as a kitchen hand or cook, ideally within Aged Care (preferred).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Minimum one year of experience working as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment.
* Certificate II in Cookery, or willingness to undertake training.
* Current National Police Certificate – or ability to obtain one.
