We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Financial Accountant to join our team. Based in the Shepparton office, as the Financial Accountant you will play a pivotal role in Watters' financial reporting. You will contribute to the accuracy and reliability of our financial information and strengthen the controls, reconciliations and our recording/reporting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working collaboratively, contributing ideas, and taking ownership of key reporting responsibilities.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
Coordinate and submit supplier payments
Lead the preparation of monthly reporting tasks and schedules for Operations Management, Executive Leadership and the Board
Compile management reporting inputs, including variance analysis
Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
Contribute to the preparation and monitoring of budgets/forecasts
Provide input to the accounts receivable function and processes
Maintain organised, accurate and timely financial records
Take an active role in contributing to new or improved processes and systems
Be a Finance Business Partner to people across our organisation
About You
You are self-motivated and detailed-oriented. You have a passion for numbers, as well as an eagerness to learn and contribute to a supportive team. You bring an analytical mind and have the initiative to identify issues and provide intuitive solutions.
We are seeking candidates that can bring the following experience/qualifications:
A degree in Accounting or Commerce (Required)
Relevant experience in similar roles (Desired)
Demonstrated experience with reconciliations, month-end accounting and reporting (Desired)
A proactive mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Advanced communication skills with the confidence to collaborate across our locations, the finance team, other business divisions and with external partners
A willingness to learn, take on feedback and commit to continuous development
Commencing or Completing CA/CPA (Highly Regarded, but not essential)
