About the Role
Your Local Midwife Bacchus Marsh, in collaboration with Book a Midwife, is expanding our team and seeking an endorsed midwife to join our clinic-based model of care.
This role offers a mix of in-person and virtual midwifery care, all delivered from our Bacchus Marsh clinic. You will provide continuity of care from early pregnancy through to 7 weeks postpartum, working within a supportive, woman-centred team.
This is an opportunity to practise midwifery in a sustainable, relational model with no on-call and no birth attendance required.
Roster
• Tuesday: 2:00pm – 8:00pm
• Thursday: 2:00pm – 8:00pm
• Friday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
• Every second Saturday: 10:00am – 2:00pm
There is potential for additional hours in the future as the clinic continues to grow. Some roster flexibility may be available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide in-person antenatal and postnatal care from the clinic
• Deliver virtual care via phone and video consults as part of continuity
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide evidence-based education
• Perform IV infusions, iron infusions, and blood collection as required
• Provide early pregnancy assessments, miscarriage care, and postpartum follow-up within scope
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Ensure informed consent is obtained and documented
• Refer and escalate care appropriately when outside scope
• Use privacy-compliant clinical systems and clinic technology (training provided)
• Participate in team meetings, education sessions, and professional development
• Work collaboratively to ensure seamless continuity and handover
• Uphold AHPRA, NMBA, Medicare, and MIGA requirements
About You
• AHPRA-endorsed midwife and Medicare-eligible
• Committed to woman-centred, continuity-of-care models
• Skilled in or willing to be trained in IV infusions and blood collection
• Confident working independently within a collaborative team
• Reliable, organised, and clinically grounded
• Comfortable with technology and virtual consults
• Passionate about education, advocacy, and holistic midwifery care
Insurance and Requirements
• Maintain your own Professional Indemnity Insurance
• A per-shift insurance allowance is paid with wages
• Proof of current insurance required prior to commencement
• Annual renewal required
Midwives who also work in homebirth or on-call roles are welcome. A backup system is in place to support coverage if required.
