Are you passionate about building stronger, more connected communities? We’re seeking an experienced and driven Social Connection Program Officer to lead initiatives that reduce social isolation and foster inclusion and belonging across the Gold Coast.
About The Role
As the Social Connection Program Officer, you will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the City’s social connection program. Working with a high level of autonomy and professional judgement, you will develop and implement evidence-based initiatives that support priority communities and strengthen connection at both a local and citywide level.
You will manage complex projects from concept through to evaluation, ensuring initiatives are well-planned, effectively delivered and demonstrate measurable impact. The role also plays a key part in developing frameworks, establishing performance measures and driving continuous improvement across the program.
A strong focus of this position is building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, Councillor offices and community partners. Through these partnerships, you will influence, coordinate and deliver integrated initiatives that align with Council priorities and create meaningful, sustainable community outcomes.
About You
You are a strategic and community-focused professional with experience delivering impactful programs and initiatives. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage competing priorities, and are confident influencing stakeholders at all levels.
You Will Bring
Experience working with priority communities such as young people, seniors, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, LGBTIQAP+ and people with disability is highly valued. This role sits within a team specialising in social inclusion and works closely with communities most at risk of social experience in program design, delivery and evaluation, ideally within community development or social services.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives from concept to completion.Experience developing evidence-based frameworks and measuring program outcomes.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.A proactive and solutions‑focused approach, with the ability to identify opportunities, take initiative and drive ideas from concept through to delivery.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with sound professional judgement.
