A Medical Receptionist is responsible for managing front desk operations in a healthcare setting, ensuring patients are welcomed, scheduled, and assisted efficiently while maintaining accurate records and supporting clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
* Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
* Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries
* Verify patient information, insurance details, and medical records
* Maintain and update patient files in electronic health record (EHR) systems
* Collect co‐pays, process payments, and issue receipts
* Coordinate patient flow and notify medical staff of arrivals
* Handle referrals, prescriptions, and medical documentation
* Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
* Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
