Finance Manager - NFP at Sharp & Carter

An exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands‑on Finance Manager to join a well‑respected Not‑for‑Profit organisation on the Central Coast. You will oversee the full finance function, providing leadership, insight and support to ensure the organisation’s ongoing sustainability.

Working closely with the CEO and leadership team, you will deliver accurate reporting, manage day‑to‑day finance operations and drive process improvements to support growth and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee all aspects of financial management including budgeting, forecasting and month‑end reporting
- Prepare and present financial results, analysis and insights to management and the Board
- Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Banking functions
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations
- Coordinate annual audit and prepare year‑end financial statements
- Monitor cash flow and manage funding acquittals and grant reporting
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial advice and support informed decision making
- Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy
- Ad‑hoc financial analysis and participation in organisational projects as required

About you

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior accounting role
- Previous NFP or community sector experience highly regarded
- Robust knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero or SAP)
- Hands‑on and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
- A passion for supporting the community and contributing to meaningful outcomes
