Nursery Horticulturist

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Horticulturist with experience in regenerative farming to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is perfect for someone passionate about working outdoors in a world-class environment, supporting the upkeep of a 200-acre farm including 10 acres of manicured display gardens, 20 acres of tree farm / nursery and the health and wellbeing of various livestock.
You will work under the guidance of a highly experienced and capable Farm Manager, making this a rare opportunity to build your skills in an inspiring, supportive setting.
You must be willing to obtain police checks and references from a previous employer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Must be able to commit to a minimum 12 month full time contract.
* Propagating Draceana Draco seeds & repotting them as required.
* Repotting our collection of Draco seedlings into 500mm pots.
* Repotting our collection of Livistonas into 130Liter pots
* Eradicate and manage invasive and noxious weeds to ensure the ongoing health of the landscape.
* Assist with tree farm operations including preparing customer orders, palm pruning, repotting, plant care, debris clean-up, and composting.
* Operate machinery and equipment such as zero-turn mowers, tractors, and skid steers (training provided as required).
* Support team projects as directed to ensure the overall presentation and function of the farm is maintained.
* Contribute to regenerative agriculture initiatives and sustainable farm practices including low stress animal handling.
* Follow WHS practices at all times and use all PPE and tools provided by the farm.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong background in horticulture, regenerative agriculture or permaculture.
* Experience using commercial-grade mowing and landscaping equipment.
* High attention to detail and pride in maintaining immaculate grounds.
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
* A team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
* Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
