RK Law Queensland is seeking an experienced Criminal Lawyer to establish and grow our criminal practice in Cairns. This is a rare opportunity for a motivated practitioner to take ownership of their work, manage Legal Aid and private clients, and play a key role in expanding our presence in Far North Queensland.

About the Role
You'll have some autonomy to run and develop the Cairns criminal law practice, supported by an experienced Principal Lawyer and a dedicated team.
Your work will include:
* Managing a variety of criminal and traffic law matters (including Legal Aid files)
* Court appearances in the Magistrates, District, and Supreme Courts
* Liaising with Legal Aid Queensland and participating in the duty lawyer roster
* Assisting occasionally with family law files
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years post-admission experience in criminal law
* A self-starter who thrives working independently
* Confident advocate with a genuine passion for client outcomes
* Bonus: experience or interest in family law

* Salary range $90,000 – $130,000 (pro-rata) depending on experience
