Child Health team located at Kirwan Health Campus are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse to join their team.
This role joins the team who are part of the for Putting Qld Kids First strategy Putting Queensland Kids First.
About the opportunity
We are looking for a motivated Clinical nurse to join our Child Youth and Family health team as part of the investment for Putting Qld Kids First strategy Putting Queensland Kids First. This investment supports parents in their own wellbeing and builds capacity to provide safe, healthy home environments for their child's development.
The CN will provide professional family centred nursing care to parents/carers and their children regarding Child, Youth & Family Health, and related matters, in various settings including homes, clinics, schools, and the Infant Management and Parenting Skills (IMPS) Centre, using a Primary Health Care model. There will be the opportunity to support child health programs across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service area.
The CN position will manage a clinical caseload of complex clients, deliver both universal and enhanced programs and be responsible for a clinical program within their portfolio.
Child Youth and Family Health Services (CYFHS) provide a variety of nursing, therapy and services through community-based programs.
These programs include:
* Hospital and Home visiting, including Sustained Health Home visiting and Family Care
* Immunisation Clinics and School Based Immunisation
* Well baby Clinics and Groups
* IMPS Day-Stay Centre
* Evidenced Based Parenting Programs e.g. Circle of Security, Triple P, MECSH
* Early Intervention Parenting Clinician Service
* School Based Youth Health Nurse (SBYHN) program
* Primary School Health Readiness Program
PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent part-time role, working 64 hours per fortnight.

* Salary range: $56.08 - $60.05 p.h. (CNG6-1)
* 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading

Requirements:
* Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
* Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
* Travel: This position may be required to travel to (via small planes or ferry), and work at, other facilities located within the THHS, e.g., participate in clinical activities or meetings for planning, quality, performance and education. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. The successful applicant must be able to commit to this requirement.
* Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
* Completion of an immunisation course approved by Queensland Health and Townsville HHS Advanced scope of Clinical Practice application for Immunisation Program Registered Nurse, or willing to undertake the necessary training to complete an approved immunisation course if successful in the position, within 6-12 months of commencement.
* Successful applicant will be required to complete Townsville University Hospital mandatory competencies within three months of commencement.
