Your insights will deliver accurate, insightful financial information, maintain strong financial controls, and empower executive management with the clarity they need for confident, strategic decision-making.What You'll Be DoingCollaborate with management to support and execute the broader business strategic directionImprove visibility of financial reporting deadlines across the business to enhance planning and accountabilityDistribute a Quarterly Finance Digest to communicate key financial updates, business insights, and ongoing initiativesEnsure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and corporate financial regulationsCalculate and raise accruals, provisions, and other journal entries required for accurate end-of-month (EOM) processingProduce and fully reconcile monthly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements to ensure accurate and complete reportingAssist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly results packs for CFO and Director review, highlighting key financial insights and variancesManage statutory reporting obligations and ensure all deadlines are met for each entity within the groupLead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, internal auditors and ensure compliance, and implement audit recommendationsLiaise with external accountants across jurisdictions to ensure accurate and timely lodgement of all taxation obligations, including BAS, PAYGW, PAYG, Payroll Tax, and Superannuation (in coordination with the HR Manager)Respond promptly and effectively to external financial information requests as neededDrive standardisation, efficiency, and best practices across financial processes including invoicing, PO compliance, accruals, and reporting documentationLead initiatives that leverage automation, offshoring, and AI technologies to improve accuracy and reduce manual effortMaintain and oversee a robust reporting calendar aligned with team capacity and cross-functional business needsEnsure ongoing improvement in financial accuracy, tax compliance, internal controls, and reporting qualityShare regular insights on DSO and cashflow with internal stakeholders to support improved working capital managementCommunicate key profitability drivers and opportunities for margin improvement with Finance and business teamsServe as a customer-focused financial partner, enabling stronger decision-making across internal and external stakeholdersChampion innovation and growth, driving adoption of new technologies, automation tools, and scalable financial practicesSupport and oversee post-acquisition integration activities, ensuring alignment of reporting structures and compliance frameworksFront Running CandidateBachelor of CommerceCA or CPA qualifiedIdeally 5+ years' experience in a similar roleExperience with Xero and Salesforce (preferred)Strong leadership and team development skillsHigh attention to detail & accuracyExcellent analytical and commercial acumenProactive, improvement-focused mindsetOutstanding communication & stakeholder engagement abilitiesWhy Join Smart Energy?
