We're looking for an experienced and motivated Store Manager to take charge of our new Mitre 10 store in Kurri Kurri, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the store from the ground up,lead a passionate team, and deliver excellent service to both trade and retail customers.
Convenient Location: The store is based in Kurri Kurri with easy access via the Hunter Expressway — making it an ideal role for candidates living in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, or the wider Hunter region.
About the Role
As Store Manager, you will oversee the daily operations, ensuring the store is set up to company standards, runs smoothly, and delivers an exceptional customer experience. This is a full-time leadership position where you'll manage sales, stock, staff, and compliance — while driving growth in both retail and trade areas.
What You'll Do
• Lead, inspire, and manage a brand-new team of staff.
• Oversee store setup, merchandising, and day-to-day operations.
• Ensure compliance with WHS standards and company procedures.
• Drive sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
• Manage rostering, staff development, and performance.
• Control stock, ordering, and loss prevention.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
• Proven experience in store management (hardware, home improvement, or retail highly regarded).
• Robust leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
• Flexibility to work across a 7-day trading roster, including weekends and late nights.
Desirable: Previous home improvement experience, tertiary education in business or
management.
