Salary/Level: Grade 3, $77,950 – $81,682 p.a. plus District Allowance, Air Conditioning Allowance, 25% No Fixed Hours Allowance, plus 12% Superannuation, Annual Leave Travel Concession, Relocation Allowance (if eligible), Housing or Rental Subsidy (if eligible), Additional allowances including overnight & fire line.

The Kimberley Region is a remote and complex landscape which is renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance. The region offers many unique opportunities to explore and enjoy world class natural and cultural attractions as well as appreciate the wilderness values of the area.

We are currently seeking a Senior Ranger to join our team. As the Senior Ranger – Wunaamin Conservation Park, you will work within rugged beauty. This role offers the chance to lead a team in managing some of Western Australia's most breathtaking parks whilst working to engage with visitors and maintain visitor safety.

You will collaborate with Traditional Owners, stakeholders and a range of specialist teams to deliver meaningful on-ground conservation and visitor services, ensuring these extraordinary places are protected and enjoyed safely. Under the direction of the Senior Operations Officer, this position is:

* Responsible for works programs and day to day operations within the West Kimberley District National Parks, with a particular focus on Wunaamin Conservation Park.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check, a current and satisfactory National Police Check and a current Western Australian "C" Class Drivers Licence, with a preference for someone with a current 'MR' Class Drivers Licence prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria

1. Experience in leading, supervising and managing teams, empowering individuals to work with confidence both in teams and independently to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities, with particular emphasis on the development, management and supervision of park-specific projects.
2. Experience in or knowledge of working with traditional owners to deliver native title aspirations and goals through joint management, cooperation or collaborative arrangements.
3. Evidence of well- developed interpersonal and oral communication skills and experience in building and maintaining networks; liaising with the public, commercial tourism operators, community groups, special interest groups (including indigenous groups) and other stakeholders; and in patrol and enforcement procedures.
4. Experience and knowledge of implementing operational plans and works programs associated with visitor management and natural resource management, having regard to the threatening processes affecting native flora and fauna, rehabilitation techniques and the monitoring and control of pests and weeds.
