The Roy Fagan Centre is seeking a dedicated Clinical Coach to join our team and play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing novice nurses within our specialised older persons mental health service. As a Clinical Coach, you'll work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator to guide, support, and assess novice nurses in achieving clinical competence. You'll contribute to a culture of learning, safety, and reflective practice, while helping shape the future of aged mental health nursing in Tasmania.

Who We Are
The Roy Fagan Centre (RFC) is Tasmania's statewide specialised inpatient mental health facility for older persons, and part of Older Person's Mental Health Service (OPMHS). We provide compassionate, person-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental ill health, neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, and complex psychiatric conditions. Our multidisciplinary team works across four purpose-built units, each designed to support dignity, safety, and therapeutic engagement.

* Palliative and end-of-life care
* Rehabilitation and recovery-focused programs

Our patients are older Tasmanians age 65+, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50+, who require specialised mental health support. We also support individuals with young-onset neurodegenerative conditions.

You will need:
* Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards.
* Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives.
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 1 January 2026.

Location:Hobart, Tasmania
Salary: $99,455 to $105,995 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance withNurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:

* Minimum of 4 years clinical experience in the relevant practice setting.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area.
* Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
