The Department of Education is seeking a motivated Policy Support Officer to join our organisation.
This position is offered on a temporary basis until 31 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role
This exciting opportunity involves monitoring and reporting on the department's initiatives, including the Reframing the Relationships plans, and providing advice on departmental policies and procedures to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in education.
Responsibilities Include
Assist in developing and implementing systems and procedures, using appropriate software and adhering to departmental standards.
Prepare and maintain high-quality and accurate correspondence and administrative documents.
Monitor progress on plan implementation and report to senior management on various projects, including investigation, research, and analysis of sensitive and confidential matters.
Coordinate records management activities, including records of incoming correspondence and Right to Information requests, and monitor the flow of correspondence.
Resolve operational problems and assist in developing and implementing initiatives, policies, processes, and systems for effective administration of departmental services.
Assist in developing and implementing policies, practices, and procedures related to the program of work.
Prepare reports and submissions on departmental initiatives and respond to related matters, including those supporting the Reframing the Relationships plans.
Attend meetings with departmental officers to discuss, evaluate, and revise systems and procedures, providing secretariat support as required.
Assist in disseminating information to departmental staff and the public.
Promote an environment of high-quality service delivery by seeking continuous improvements in administrative systems and leading by example.
