The Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated Investigator to join our Investigations Team and play a vital role in protecting the integrity of South Australia's transport system.

In this role, you'll uncover and respond to breaches of key legislation, working on matters that directly impact public safety and compliance across the state. From gathering evidence and preparing reports to supporting prosecutions and shaping future policy, your work will be diverse, challenging, and rewarding.

About you

The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively, act with urgency, and deliver departmental programs under limited direction. With strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem solving and contemporary knowledge of investigative techniques, you'll be well-equipped to lead investigations and achieve our agency's objectives.

Educational Qualifications / Licenses

* Investigation techniques qualification (or equivalent experience) will be highly regarded.
* A current driver licence is essential.

Special Conditions

* A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
* A Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
* Clearance outcome must be suitable to be appointed as an Authorised Officer under Motor Vehicles Act 1959, Passenger Transport Act 1994 and other Acts as required.
* Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

Tenure of Vacancy

Temporary appointment up to 12 months.

Remuneration

ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413pa + Superannuation.
