About the Position
As the Producer and Presenter, you will be responsible for producing and delivering engaging, high-quality radio content that reflects the Northern Territory's unique character and aligns with Charles Darwin University's (CDU) values and community engagement objectives. This role is central to the success of Territory FM's flagship Breakfast Program, requiring a presenter who is passionate about local radio, storytelling, and community engagement, and who thrives in a fast paced, creative environment.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, curious, and adaptable, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to connect authentically with audiences. They will bring a collaborative and supportive approach to working within the Territory FM team, including mentoring volunteers and fostering a positive, inclusive station culture. As a public face of the station, the Breakfast Presenter will maintain a professional and ambassadorial presence, representing CDU and Territory FM at events, outside broadcasts, and across media platforms. The role also demands a commitment to continuous improvement, creativity, and excellence in broadcasting, ensuring Territory FM maintains its reputation as the voice of the Territory — "Right here with you."
The position involves hosting and producing live and pre-recorded content, creating commercial and promotional material, managing interviews and features, and operating broadcast systems such as RCS Zetta and GSelector.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
* Completion of a Diploma-level qualification in broadcasting, media, or a related discipline, with relevant industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Demonstrated experience producing and presenting live radio, preferably in a Breakfast or Drive time slot.
* Proven ability to research, plan, and deliver creative, accurate, and engaging on-air content.
* Proficiency with RCS Zetta and GSelector, or comparable broadcast automation systems.
* Strong technical skills in audio recording, editing, and multi-track production.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills, with the ability to work calmly under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Experience in representing an organisation in public forums, community events, or media appearances.
* A strong understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Northern Territory culture, communities, and current affairs.
* Commitment to the University's values.
* Degree-level qualification in broadcasting, communications, or related field.
* Experience in commercial or community radio environments, including compliance with Community Broadcasting Codes of Practice.
* Experience writing and producing station imaging, promos, and advertising content.
* Familiarity with Adobe Audition, ProTools, or similar audio production platforms.
* Social media and digital content skills to support program promotion and audience engagement.
Appointment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory National Police Check and NT Working with Children Check.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 5. The base salary will be in the range of $75,927 - $87,716 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $88,834 - $102,627 per annum inclusive of 17% superannuation.
