The individual will work closely with the UX Manager to define the framework and will need to work globally across Caterpillar counterparts & key partners to define, design, deploy and improve the design system. With a continued focus on growth and quality, the individual is not tied to a particular product but through the framework facilitates to impact the overall experience offered by applications globally. For the individual in this role, they must have a global enterprise mindset and should be able to work seamlessly with team members without bias towards a particular industry or application. This position will work with stakeholders, vendors, creatives and partners and be responsible for building the framework that supports a global and futuristic heuristic user experience strategy by applying human-centered design methodology.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for working on the strategy closely with the UX Manager to define the roadmap for a best-in-class UX framework gathering a collective understanding of the work done by the team and institutionalizing it to scale globally.Work with the UX Manager to deploy the right individuals with the right capability to execute within the team and external to Caterpillar globally, with a mindset to deliver a connected and consistent experience for Caterpillar in the Work Site Solutions domain.Deliver strategic digital capabilities across various digital channels by working with UX leads, cross-functional leads, stakeholders, and partners.Exhibit strong initiation, empathy, teamwork, and global/growth mindset to be successful in this role.Work within the team and beyond with contractors, hourly, salaried and management employees, suppliers, customers, and individuals working in many Caterpillar organizations.This position will be responsible for institutionalizing UX practices ultimately enabling the team to generate and execute great user experiences for our customers and dealers. This position will work with stakeholders, vendors, creatives and partners translating customer needs to build user experience strategy by applying human-centered practices that use data to translate customer needs into wireframes and prototypes, and visually designing our future UX strategy.Responsible for collective learning around practices around Design System and facilitating consensus with stakeholders within the team & across enterprise to arrive at the common library.Defining ways to audit design system and governance to maintain and stay updated with enterprise standards and industry best practices.Work with multiple stakeholders to understand needs and facilitate change in a collaborative way.Able to translate your team's work into strategic recommendations collaborating across teams in the enterprise and facilitating change.Lead collaboration and facilitation across multiple UX functional team leads to define the best UX practices to be scaled across products for the Work Site Solutions division.Have the ability to actively and constantly collaborate with other employees including product owners, designers, web and mobile engineers, quality-assurance engineers, leadership, and more.Responsible for defining and delivering the common product practices for scalability and reusability – into the enterprise design system repository.Consolidate practices across WSS to develop a unified way to evaluate and institutionalize testing and evaluation of the application usability working with practice leads to impact key quality goals including SUS (Usability scores), NSP, continuous improvement, etc.Familiar with design sprints and the agile methodology.Follow general policies and guidelines for projects under his/her control to ensure specific project goals are met and desired results are achieved.Key Skills Required:Effective communication skillsManaging multiple prioritiesTechnical excellenceStrategic thinkingInfluencing through expertiseSoftware Product Design/ArchitectureBACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:Basic qualifications:Position requires a degree from an accredited college or university.Bachelors or Master's degree in Human Interaction Design, UX Design, Computer Science, or 8+ years experience in UX with at least 5 years leading the solutioning.8-12 years or more of experience leading and managing multiple deliverables and timelines.Top candidates will also have:8-10 years or more experience in creating complex digital application experiences across multiple products within an ecosystem.Demonstrated leadership on medium to large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities.Ability to cope with shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to effectively prioritize, delegate responsibilities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Collaborate and work with a global team across three time zones – AU, India and U.S.Passion and empathy for our end users.Designing and maintaining applications at scale.Leading and facilitating design workshops as needed.Passion for VOC through customer interviews, usability testing, surveys, CSAT, or other methods of research – data-driven decision-making.Experience using design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe, etc.Working within an Agile framework.Experience utilizing analytics data to support design decisions and industry UX framework for heuristic and design evaluations.Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies across multiple platforms is required.Requires ability to listen to customers and stakeholders to visually design new products and features.
