Heres your opportunity to make a real impact in our community! We're seeking a Social Media Manager volunteer to join the Albury Rescue Squad and help us connect with the public in new and exciting ways.
Key Duties
- Create and schedule engaging content for Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms
- Highlight squad activities, training, and community events
- Promote recruitment, fundraising initiatives, and public safety messages
- Monitor and respond to messages and comments to maintain positive engagement
- Collaborate with squad members to capture photos, videos, and stories
- Track social media metrics and adjust strategies to increase reach and impact
Skills and Experience Needed
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation
- Excellent written and visual communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe) are a plus
- Experience with social media planning tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite) is an advantage
- Passion for community service and a creative mindset
Organisational Background
The Albury Rescue Squad (VRA) is a volunteer-based emergency response unit serving Albury and surrounding areas. Our dedicated members provide road crash rescue, flood and storm response, search and rescue, and support to other emergency services. We are proud to serve our community with professionalism and compassion.

Time Required
Initial induction and membership require about 2 hours a week for the first month. As a non‑operational member of the NSW VRA – Albury Squad, focusing solely on Social Media time is very flexible and would require less than one hour a week.
Training
We are looking for someone who may be studying social media or marketing already. Nil specific training for this role, however other opportunities within the NSW VRA may exist.
