Electrical Fitter
Bayswater, Perth WA. Full time position with a salary range of $90,000 – $110,000 per year.
The Electrical Fitter is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and components in accordance with safety and quality standards. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the organisation. Reporting to the Group Team Leader, the Electrical Fitter is expected to follow electrical schematics, diagnose issues, maintain equipment, and adhere to safety and quality standards.
What You'll Be Doing
* Follow and understand electrical schematics: Interpret and follow electrical schematics accurately for installation and maintenance tasks.
* Diagnose electrical issues: Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems efficiently to minimise downtime.
* Work with electrical isolation rules: Follow strict electrical isolation procedures to ensure safety during maintenance and repair activities.
* Fit out of electrical wiring, harnesses, and components: Install, assemble and connect electrical wiring, harnesses and components per specifications.
* Body protection: Ensure the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for personal safety.
* Complete fit-out of modules: Contribute to the completion of electrical fit-outs within designated modules or areas.
* Quality checks: Perform quality checks to ensure all electrical work meets established standards.
* Time management: Efficiently manage work tasks to meet deadlines and schedules.
* Adhere to safety standards: Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
* Raise one hazard per month: Actively identify and report potential hazards to enhance workplace safety.
* Raise two near misses per year: Report near misses promptly to prevent future accidents.
* Raise one quality issue every quarter: Identify and report quality issues to maintain and improve product quality.
* Report all incidents: Raise every incident with your line leader either performed or observed.
* Follow leader guidance with respect: Collaborate effectively with team leaders and supervisors, respecting their guidance and directions.
* Team player and independent work: Work effectively both as part of a team and independently to accomplish tasks.
* Continuous learning: Actively pursue two new ventures of training and skills per year.
* Maintain quality incidents low: No more than four quality incidents per year.
* Workplace management: Including housekeeping – ensure a clean and organised work area, including toolboxes, sheds and the yard.
* Process improvement: Raise improvement ideas and follow them through to implementation each year.
* Equipment maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on electrical equipment to ensure functionality.
* Equipment licenses: Maintain required licenses and certifications for operating specialised equipment.
* Comply with standard working day: Adhere to established working hours and schedules.
* Work in tight spaces and at heights: Perform tasks in confined spaces and at elevated positions when necessary.
* Complete tasks on a set schedule: Ensure tasks are completed within defined timeframes and schedules.
* Represent business values: Uphold the organisation's values and professional behaviour both within and outside the workplace.
* Quality handover checks: Conduct thorough quality checks during handovers to ensure smooth transitions between tasks or shifts.
Experience & Skills
* Full automotive electrical licence required.
* Mechanical fit‐out experience required.
* Experience with water cars, service trucks and trailers.
* Works well in a team environment.
