We are seeking an experienced Quality Advisor with welding supervision expertise and knowledge of Australian Standards to join our Sydney team. This full-time project-based role supports the delivery of a critical infrastructure construction project with a focus on zero harm.
The Project Quality Advisor fosters a strong quality culture by implementing best practice welding procedures and quality systems. The role utilises the Integrated Management System to achieve continual improvement and legal compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Establishing and monitoring quality compliance with the Project Manager
* Generating and qualifying welding procedures and welders
* Conducting welding surveillance and inspections
* Coordinating non-destructive testing (NDT) according to API/ASME standards
* Interface with sub-contractors and reviewing their ITPs and ITCs
* Developing and managing project-specific ITPs and ITCs
* Identifying systematic non-conformities and developing corrective/preventative action plans
* Contributing to workplace Health Safety and Environment aspects within the company
* Maintaining a strong relationship between site and office through regular communication
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Qualification and experience in welding or a similar trade, including Cert 10 AS1796 and AS2214 or IWE equivalent
* Qualification in quality assurance or a related discipline desirable
* Demonstrated experience in quality strategy development and implementation
* 5 years or more experience in supervising welding and quality assurance in a construction environment desirable
* Ability to engage with and coach Saunders personnel
* Innovative approach to building a strong SHEQ culture
* Detailed understanding of WHS, Injury Management, and Environmental legislation
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to set own goals to ensure SHEQ KPIs and deliverables are met
