About the roleAs Regional Manager, you will lead Victoria Legal Aid's Mildura office on Latji Latji country and play a key role in improving access to justice across the Mallee region. You will lead a growing diverse team of lawyers and support staff and ensure high-quality legal services are delivered across VLA practice areas.
This role combines people leadership, legal expertise and strong community engagement. You will create a positive and inclusive workplace, support staff wellbeing and development, and lead the office through growth and change. You will also contribute directly to legal practice by providing supervision and, where appropriate, appearing in court.
This is more than an operational management role. It is an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a regional community where access to legal support is critical.
This role is based at our Mildura office on Latji Latji Country.
About YouAs Our Ideal Candidate, You Will Possess
Extensive leadership and people management experience, including the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
Strong legal background in criminal, family and/or civil law, with experience supervising complex work.
Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to emerging legal trends and needs.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including experience working with First Nations communities.
Tertiary qualification in law, public policy or a related field or equivalent relevant experience (mandatory).
A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
