Permanent Full-time

Salary from: $70,532 up to $78,929 per annum plus superannuation (Salary will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

About The Position

Join our South Maintenance team and help keep Wollongong's public spaces safe, functional, and looking their best. You\'ll take on a mix of civil maintenance tasks, from concrete and footpath repairs to reactive works, and no two days are the same.

You\'ll enjoy a nine-day fortnight, start early at the depot, work across the LGA, support other teams when needed, and use tablets and safety systems as part of your everyday work. This hands-on role suits someone adaptable, collaborative, and eager to learn, with opportunities to develop into plant operator or truck-driving roles. Occasional overtime/on-call work may be required from time to time as per operational needs.

Responsibilities
* Carry Out Scheduled And Reactive Maintenance, Including concrete works and basic finishing
* Footpath repairs and formwork
* Managing trip hazards
* Sinkholes and structural maintenance
* General civil asset management upkeep
About You

You're someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job well, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to the team each day. You're adaptable, willing to pitch in wherever you're needed, and comfortable working across different tasks, whether it\'s concrete work, formwork, general maintenance, or supporting other crews on site. You hold a General Construction Induction (White Card), a valid Class C Drivers Licence and bring demonstrated experience in civil concreting and basic concrete finishes, along with the ability to construct basic footpath formwork.

You're safety-minded and understand the importance of following procedures, contributing to risk assessments, and looking out for your team and the community. You communicate well with coworkers and the public, and you're someone who works just as confidently alongside others as you do independently.

You're physically capable of the demands of the role, open to learning new skills, and keen to grow your capability over time. With Council\'s support, you're ready to develop in areas like truck driving, small-plant operation, and other civil maintenance skills that can help you step up in the future.
