About The Role
As the Manager – Operational Technology (OT) Thermal, you'll lead a team of engineers delivering operational support and project activities for AGL's Thermal OT infrastructure—based nominally at Loy Yang, while also supporting sites across Australia. You'll be at the forefront of managing complex OT technologies during a period of significant energy transition, ensuring alignment with AGL's long-term strategy as Thermal assets move toward retirement and new projects come online.
This role blends strategic leadership as part of the OT Leadership Team with hands-on technical oversight, providing direction for the OT portfolio of work focused on Thermal assets, while supporting Gas and Renewables assets as needed. You'll manage people, operational performance, and project delivery, fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
Your responsibilities will include guiding and mentoring technical staff, ensuring adherence to AGL's Service Management frameworks, overseeing 24x7 operational systems support, and building capability in line with technological advancements. You'll also be a visible and influential leader, shaping OT infrastructure strategy, ensuring systems resilience, and driving best-practice operations.
About You
You are a proven leader with deep experience in Operational Technology and a strong background in managing technical teams in complex operational environments. You excel at balancing long-term strategic planning with day-to-day operational leadership, and you're confident in engaging with stakeholders from the control room to the executive suite.
