Overview
MACA is seeking an experienced Mining Supervisor to join our team at the McPhee Creek Iron Ore Project working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
The McPhee Creek Iron Ore Project is located 30km north of Nullagine in the north-east Pilbara region of WA.
Role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Mining Supervisor is responsible for leading and mentoring a crew of Production Operators to ensure safe and efficient mining operations.
Key responsibilities:
* Ensure that all work activities are conducted in accordance with contract/project management plans and statutory requirements.
* A distinct understanding of managing plant, equipment and resources.
* Ensure that all technical, engineering and specified aspects of the work activity are complete prior to commencement of works.
* Support day to day activities, providing direction to production crews, ensuring effective shift handovers, prestart and toolbox meetings.
* Identify areas for improvement, assess training requirements and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff.
To be successful in this role
* A demonstrated track record of fostering safety in the workplace.
* Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, leading and mentoring teams effectively to drive production performance outcomes.
* Extensive experience in open pit mining within a Nickel, Copper, Gold, Lithium or Iron ore background highly regarded.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are a must, allowing you to build relationships across the team and departments.
* Working knowledge of the Regulation/Legislation.
