About the role
1. Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering designs and feasibility studies.
2. Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
3. Deliver best practice technical solutions in accordance with project scope, timeframes and standards.
4. Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all Mechanical engineering project work, ensuring compliance with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works
5. Preparation of package documentation to support equipment procurement including Scope of Works, Specifications, Data sheets and Technical Bid Evaluation of vendor submissions.
6. Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for conventional engineering, research and development assignments.
7. Familiar with standard discipline deliverables and work process on projects.
8. Demonstrate initiative and basic leadership skills to give direction within a small work group.
9. Deliver superior quality designs and deliverables that meet the technical schedule and budget requirements.
10. Develop networks and relationships within teams, and to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
11. Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders (such as estimating design hours).
12. Monitor and remain within assigned budget and alert supervisor if the budget estimate will be exceeded.
13. Opportunities to work on international projects with potential for site based construction support and commissioning secondments.
About you
14. Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering with eligibility and desire to pursue RPEQ accreditation
15. 3 – 5 years post grad experience.
16. Strong experience in engineering consulting (Minerals Processing) and EPC/EPCM projects in the mining and resources sectors.
17. Experience with copper, gold, nickel or base metals is highly advantageous
18. Design experience using S3D, Helix, Sidewinder, Rocky, Fluidflow etc. highly regarded
19. Sound understanding of current codes and standards including Australian and ASME
20. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
21. Strong problem solving and organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
22. Project and / or site experience highly regarded
23. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally highly desirable
