Our main depot is based on the Sunshine Coast, with work across the Sunshine Coast and regional Southeast Queensland.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Plant Operator specifically skilled with detailed finishing ability utilising skid-steers, tracked loaders, and excavators. The ideal candidate can complete road base placement including final trim with bucket/spreader-bar, table drain shaping, trenching, batter shaping etc. Very highly regarded if you also have your HC or HR truck drivers' license and exposure/experience with asphalt laying. The role involves working as part of a growing team on a variety of civil and asphalt projects.
This is a hands-on role where you'll operate plant and machinery, work alongside the crew, and help deliver high-quality projects safely and efficiently. For the right person, there are opportunities for further training, development, and progression as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate plant and machinery such as skid steer/tracked loaders with various attachments and detailed excavator operation
* Work with the asphalt crew in a machine as well as on the ground including labouring duties when required – raking, shoveling, sweeping, wheelbarrow work, and lining out
* Assist with site setup, maintenance, and clean-up
* Help prepare and secure loads, fill/maintain equipment and trucks with fuel and water
* Follow safe work practices and contribute to toolbox talks, safety initiatives, and incident reporting
* Work effectively with crew members and supervisors to deliver projects on time and to quality standards
Requirements
* Proven experience as a plant operator (asphalt experience highly regarded)
* General Construction Induction Card (White Card – or able to obtain before starting)
* Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality work
* Positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to get hands-on
* Flexibility to work across different shifts (day, night, and weekend work when required)
* Current driver's licence (Truck licence – HR/HC – highly regarded)
* Willingness to undergo pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol testing
