About the role
The Manager, Reconstruction Coordination (Remediation) will lead a dedicated project team to deliver a high-profile, time‑critical program that supports NSW's disaster recovery and reconstruction EPAR remediation objectives. This role is about driving outcomes – ensuring complex work streams are delivered on schedule, risks are managed, and stakeholders are aligned.
You will establish and lead a small internal team and coordinate external resources to achieve program milestones. The role requires strong governance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills to keep the program on track and maintain confidence at senior levels. You'll work across multiple agencies, councils, and suppliers, ensuring collaboration and accountability in a fast‑paced environment.
In this exciting and varied role, you will:
* Lead a dedicated project team to deliver a major state-wide remediation program within tight deadlines.
* Manage governance, reporting, and escalation processes to support timely decision‑making.
* Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including other NSW agencies, councils, and contracted suppliers.
* Oversee procurement and performance of external resources, ensuring delivery aligns with program objectives.
* Drive progress against milestones, manage risks, and resolve issues proactively.
* Provide clear, concise updates to senior executives and steering committees.
About you
You are a proactive and outcomes‑focused leader who thrives in complex, high‑pressure environments. You bring strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain collaboration across multiple agencies and partners. You have proven experience leading teams and managing external suppliers, ensuring accountability and performance in challenging timeframes. Your background includes delivering large‑scale projects or programs with multiple dependencies, and you are confident in governance and reporting to senior stakeholders. Above all, you take a solutions‑focused approach to problem‑solving and risk management, and you can keep people aligned and motivated to achieve critical outcomes.
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in project or program management in a government or infrastructure context.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage external resources.
* Strong skills in planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
* Familiarity with governance frameworks and reporting requirements for high‑profile projects.
* Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
About the Agency
The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities and other stakeholders.
