* Position Title: Community Education Engagement Lead
* Duration: Full -Time Fixed- term 30 June 2027
* Base Salary: $80,269 to $87,712 p.a. as per HPCS 3.1-3.4
About the Role:
The Chronic Disease Team, the Community Education and Engagement Lead will oversee and coordinate the delivery of the Tackling Indigenous smoking cessation support services and programs to Indigenous people in the Darwin Region including the clinic and outreach settings and support the Population Health Team Leader in the coordination of Community Engagement and Education activities.
The role will contribute to the delivery of the smoking and other Deadly Choices healthy lifestyle modules in school, academy, bush camp, and other settings to young Indigenous people, as well as school and community event-based health promotion and education activities.
What You Need to Succeed
Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with Aboriginal people from diverse backgrounds, with sensitivity to Aboriginal culture, history, and current social impacts on them.
* Demonstrated strong organisational skills to plan, manage and prioritise tasks and resources to deliver outcomes within time and budget considerations.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment, cope with pressure and able to meet tight timelines.
* Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in managing small teams.
* Sound presentation skills and confidence to speak to groups.
* The ability to interact and effectively engage with a range of administrative staff, medical practitioners, nurses, and other health professionals and external agencies.
* Demonstrated computer skills especially in the use of the Microsoft Office suite and client information systems.
* Proven teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to constructively negotiate outcomes with a diverse range of people and service providers.
* High level of personal resilience and flexibility with the ability to deal with challenging situations.
* Experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector.
* Experience delivering community education and health promotion events.
* Minimum of 2 years of Tackling Indigenous Smoking program experience.
