Full sponsorship to obtain Cert IV in Training and Assessment Relocation support may be available Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses Located in Pearce, WA, we are seeking Aviation Ground Training Instructors to provide aviation theory training and subject matter advice for the delivery of Pilot Training Courseware to train the next generation of ADF Pilots through the AIR 5428 Pilot Training System. The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Implementing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates, as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units. Your responsibilities will include: Subject to program award, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Providing classroom instruction in aviation subjects. Supporting the design of new programs, providing ground school instruction on a wide range of aircraft subjects, evaluate training materials including Aircraft systems, operation procedures, emergency procedures, troubleshooting, navigation, aerodynamics, radio communications, ADF air regulations, and ADF policies. Administering, and scoring tests, maintaining class records, evaluate and determining and reporting on student proficiency and offer student counselling as required. Supporting the development of new methods, techniques, and training aids for increased efficiency. Liaising with ADF flying school executive team. About you: This opportunity could suit ex-military flying instructor, ground school instructors, pilots or other relevant transferrable skills, including, but not limited to: Experience in delivering training in aviation instruction, aviation flight theory, pilot training, ground school training or equivalent. Ability to understand and articulate a Training Plan and recommend adjustments to the training system as required. Ability to communicate training to students with varying technical and working experience. An ability to simplify and explain complex concepts like aerodynamics and aircraft systems to students. Excellent technical writing and editing skills. Familiar with Microsoft Office 365. Ability to travel interstate While not essential, the following skills would be desirable: Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment. If you do not already possess a Cert IV T&A, we will fully sponsor your acquisition of this certification. High level of teaching skills based upon formal teaching qualifications and / or extensive ground instructional experience gained within the aviation industry or equivalent military training environment. Knowledge of ADF learning methodologies like Systems Approach to Defence Learning and Manual of Air Force Education and Training. Learning Management Systems (for e.g. MOODL). Subject knowledge in aviation theory courses up to ATPL. Subject knowledge in Aviation Non-Technical Skills. Special Requirements: Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
