We are seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of civil infrastructure projects on-site, ensuring works are executed safely and to the required quality standards. The role involves coordinating construction activities, managing subcontractors, monitoring progress and providing technical support to the site team.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of civil works in line with project requirements.
* Monitor progress against project schedules and report deviations to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
* Review drawings, specifications and project documentation to ensure compliance with design intent.
* Contribute to the preparation and review of ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), method statements, and work packs.
* Liaise with site supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of works.
* Conduct site inspections and ensure construction activities meet safety, quality and environmental standards.
* Assist in resolving technical issues and design queries during construction.
* Support procurement of materials, plant and subcontractors in line with project budgets.
* Track quantities, costs and variations, assisting with project reporting and claims.
* Contribute to contract administration in collaboration with the Project Manager and Commercial team.
* Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities comply with WHS legislation, company policies and the project-specific HSE plan.
* Ensure quality assurance processes are followed, including testing, inspection and record-keeping.
* Ensure compliance with project environmental management plans and conditions.
Qualifications and Skills Required
* A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
* 5-10 years of experience in in civil construction projects (roads, earthworks, drainage).
* Sound knowledge of Australian construction standards, and exposure to quality assurance processes and document control systems.
* Ability to self-manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines while working effectively in a team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently build relationships with clients, colleagues and subcontractors.
* White Card (Construction Induction).
* Current Australian driver's license.
* First aid certificate (training course can be provided).
