WHAT PROJECT WILL YOU BE JOINING?
We're proud to partner with Catholic Healthcare to deliver Stage 3 of their McQuoin Park Seniors Living redevelopment in Wahroonga, on Sydney's Upper North Shore.
This final stage will deliver 79 independent living apartments across two six-level buildings, with shared basement parking and landscaped communal areas. Upon completion, McQuoin Park will comprise 167 retirement living apartments alongside a 122-bed residential aged care home, forming a fully integrated seniors living precinct.
As the concluding stage of a major live-site redevelopment, the project requires careful planning, strong stakeholder communication and a disciplined approach to safety, quality and sequencing. Maintaining a safe, functional and respectful environment for residents, staff and visitors is critical throughout delivery.
With early works nearing completion and the project preparing to move into the structure phase, this is an excellent opportunity to join at a pivotal point in the programme and help lead the delivery of a flagship seniors living development.
WHY DOES THIS SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER ROLE MATTER?
The Senior Project Engineer is the right hand for the Project Director on all design, quality, programme and site coordination matters. You'll work closely with the other members of the project leadership team to create an environment where the whole team performs at their best, and project delivery runs smoothly from commencement to handover.
You'll take end-to-end ownership of key workstreams across the project, while providing day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to Project Engineers, Site Coordinators, Graduates and Cadets.
You'll be trusted to make informed decisions, anticipate delivery risks, and proactively coordinate consultants, subcontractors and site teams to keep the project on track through structure, finishes and completion.
This role is suited to a Senior Project Engineer, or a highly capable Project Engineer ready to step up, with experience delivering complex projects within live operational environments.
IN WHAT AREAS WILL YOU HAVE THE MOST IMPACT?
* Leading design coordination across multiple work fronts, including RFIs, shop drawings and consultant documentation
* Owning project quality systems, including Inspection and Test Plans, hold points, witness points and QA sign-offs
* Supporting the Project Director with programme strategy, sequencing, lookaheads and forecast updates
* Coordinating structure, façade and finishes packages to maintain programme and quality outcomes
* Providing technical leadership to Site Supervisors and Site Coordinators to resolve site issues efficiently
* Managing consultant and authority interfaces, including inspections and compliance requirements
* Driving defects identification, rectification and close-out through to handover
* Supporting commissioning, completion and authority sign-offs
* Contributing to project reporting, including programme, risk and delivery performance
* Mentoring and developing Project Engineers, Site Coordinators, Graduates and Cadets
WHO WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE?
You're a confident and experienced Senior Project Engineer who takes ownership of outcomes and leads by example. You're comfortable balancing technical detail with programme, people leadership and delivery priorities, particularly within live operational environments.
You'll bring:
* A degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 8+ years post-grad experience in a top tier (T1-T3) engineering role
* Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer, or a Project Engineer ready to step up
* Experience delivering mid to large-scale commercial, high-rise residential, or mixed-use building projects, ideally $60m+
* Strong capability across structure, façade and finishes coordination
* A track record of leading and mentoring junior engineers and site-based team members
* The ability to anticipate issues, plan ahead and drive solutions collaboratively
* Clear communication skills and confidence engaging with consultants, subcontractors and clients
This role is suited to a Senior Project Engineer, or a Project Engineer operating at a senior level and ready to formalise that next step.
Not sure you tick every box?
Don't let that stop you from registering your interest. If you're performing at a PE level on your current project and are ready for greater ownership with the right support, we'd love to hear from you.
