, where art, ideas, and people come together. You'll play a hands-on role in constructing and installing exhibitions that showcase local, national, and touring artists. This behind-the-scenes role is perfect for someone who loves working with tools, takes pride in presentation and detail, and enjoys collaborating with artists and curators to bring exhibitions to life.
Key Aspects Of The Role
* Exhibition installation and maintenance From preparing walls and painting plinths to assembling and positioning artworks, you take care of every detail that makes an exhibition shine.
* Technical and creative support Bringing ideas to life requires both precision and imagination. You'll set up lighting, projectors, and AV systems to enhance how each artwork is experienced, while working closely with the Curator and Team Leader to realise exhibition designs that look as good as they sound on paper.
* Art care and presentation Handling artworks is a responsibility you take seriously. You unpack and repack touring exhibitions, complete condition reports, and ensure every piece is secure, stable, and displayed safely. Your attention to presentation ensures each work looks its best while remaining protected behind the scenes.
* Safety and equipment management A safe, organised workspace keeps everything running smoothly. You maintain tools, ladders, and equipment, follow safe work practices, and help identify potential risks. Whether working independently or with the team, you keep installations efficient, safe, and ready for the next exhibition.
What We're Looking For
* Experience setting up exhibitions or working in a gallery or creative environment.
* Practical skills in painting, carpentry lighting, AV setup,, or similar.
* A flexible, can-do attitude and ability to follow direction while working well in a team.
* A focus on safety and professional presentation.
* Current driver's licence, Working with Children Check, and National Police Check.

Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to provide the following.
* A copy of a recent National Police Check (less than 3 months)
* A current driver's licence
* Any other mandatory requirements outlined in the position description (eg. first aid, CPR, WWCC, forklift).
The completion of a pre-employment functional assessment (paid for by the council) will also be required.
If applicable, evidence regarding right to work in Australia will need to be presented.
