Offer description

* Own and shape a custom production facility.
* Drive safety, quality and performance in a purpose-led business.
* Combine senior influence with the Hunter's unbeatable lifestyle.
* Lead an iconic, 100% Australian manufacturing brand with global impact.

Imagine leading a manufacturing operation where sustainability is real, not rhetoric.

Where the product you make shapes homes across Australia and the world. Where your decisions influence not just output and efficiency, but the future of an iconic, Australian-owned brand.

This is a role for a leader who wants more than just another plant to run.

At Weathertex, you'll step into a business with genuine purpose, proud heritage, and bold ambition.

You'll inherit a skilled, loyal workforce, a modernised manufacturing environment, and the mandate to shape how one of Australia's most respected building materials companies evolves its production capability.

Based in Heatherbrae, in the lifestyle-rich Hunter region, this is a rare opportunity to combine senior operational leadership with quality of life.

Beaches, vineyards, and a thriving regional community, all within reach.

Founded in 1939 and 100% Australian owned and manufactured, Weathertex sets the benchmark for design, quality and sustainability in timber cladding and architectural panels.

With a better-than-zero carbon footprint, no added silica, glues or formaldehydes, and products guaranteed for up to 25 years, Weathertex is a global reference point for environmentally responsible building materials.

Significant investment has been made over many years in plant, systems and capability.

What's needed now is a Manufacturing Manager who can harness that foundation and lead the next chapter.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take end-to-end accountability for manufacturing operations. You will:

* Lead, inspire and develop the production workforce.
* Define, embed and continuously improve best-practice manufacturing and quality standards.
* Drive operational performance across safety, cost, quality and delivery.
* Own production-related financial performance, budgets and capital planning.
* Champion a proactive, site-wide safety culture and exceptional working environment.
* Optimise plant utilisation, production scheduling and process efficiency.
* Own the procurement of key raw materials
* Ensure finished goods consistently meet Weathertex's exacting quality standards.
* Shape long-term manufacturing strategy in alignment with the company's growth plans.

This is a hands-on, enterprise-level role with genuine influence.

You will be trusted to modernise, refine and elevate how manufacturing is done.

Balancing technical rigour with people-first leadership.

About You

You are a seasoned manufacturing leader who combines commercial acumen with technical depth and authentic leadership. You bring:

* Tertiary (and ideally postgraduate) qualifications in a technical discipline.
* At least 10 years' successful experience in factory or plant management.
* A track record of improving safety, productivity, quality and culture.
* Strong financial and capital management capability.
* The ability to engage teams, build trust and drive performance through others.

Most importantly, you are motivated by building something enduring. A workforce, an operation, and a legacy.

Weathertex offers the rare chance to lead a purpose-driven manufacturing business with national and global impact, while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of the Hunter.

If you're ready to shape the future of Australian manufacturing, this is your role.
