Legal Secretary Job Description
This role provides proactive practice and administrative support to lawyers. The key responsibilities include matter management, client clearance, drafting engagement letters, maintaining document folders, coordinating meetings, working capital management, billing, collections, and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Matter Management: Ensure timely completion of tasks related to case files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Client Clearance: Verify client details and obtain necessary clearances before proceeding with matters.
* Drafting Engagement Letters: Prepare contracts outlining terms of agreements between clients and law firms.
* Maintaining Document Folders: Organize and manage electronic and physical documents associated with cases.
* Coordinating Meetings: Schedule appointments with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
* Working Capital Management: Monitor and manage financial transactions related to client payments.
* Billing and Collections: Process invoices and follow up on overdue payments.
* Business Development Support: Assist in identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies for growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require a minimum of 2 years' work experience in a similar or relevant position within a law firm or professional services environment.
