This federal government department is seeking an experienced and proactive APS6 Executive Assistant to provide high‑level executive, administrative, and coordination support to a busy senior leadership office. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of day‑to‑day activities, enabling senior executives to focus on strategic priorities.

Your new role
In this role, you will:
Manage and coordinate high-level executive support functions including diary and email management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and timely actioning of requests.
Draft, prepare and coordinate a range of documents including briefs, reports, correspondence, meeting papers, and submissions.
Support the flow of information across the leadership team and contribute to divisional priorities and projects.
Maintain accurate records and manage information in line with government standards and processes.
Monitor emerging issues, prioritise competing demands, and escalate matters where appropriate.
Support continuous improvement in administrative processes, systems, and team practices.
Undertake financial administration including reconciliation of travel and credit card accounts.
Work collaboratively with other Executive Assistants and Executive Officers to ensure consistent and coordinated support to the broader leadership cohort.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will have:
Demonstrated experience providing executive or senior administrative support in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
High levels of integrity, discretion and reliability.
Strong digital capability, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
Ability to learn new systems (e.g., financial tools, travel systems, records management platforms).
A collaborative mindset and willingness to support others during peak periods.

Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain (or already hold) a Baseline security clearance.
