Why this role matters

This opportunity boasts a career move that will see you lead an effective and high functioning team of case managers and specialist support workers to deliver client-centred homelessness and state-wide corrections program for people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.

You'll draw upon the skills and experience gained in your previous/current Team Lead role to ensure service practice models and standards are achieved and delivery of funding body requirements are met in the Housing Connect SASH, Veteran Services and the Street to Home programs.

The role you could play

We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to lead an effective team of case managers and specialist support workers. As the Team Leader, you will work autonomously and proactively to provide leadership in the development and implementation of operational support services to rough sleepers, veterans, ensuring effective support to help people find pathways into housing and connections to other support services.

Responsibilities include
- Provide specialist expertise to workers to resolve complex case management issues
- Develop the capability of the team through coaching and training
- Assist with frontline implementation of practice model/processes and implementation of change
- Effective rostering and work allocation

This is a permanent full-time position, based in New Town, TAS. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 6.

You would have
- Experience managing and supervision of staff
- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
- Relevant experience in the homeless and community service sector with excellent understanding of the homelessness issues
- Sound understanding of financial management and rostering according to awards
- Current TAS Drivers Licence
- Valid TAS Employee Working with Vulnerable Persons Check
- Willingness to undergo a national criminal history and work eligibility check
